Saving Money On Your Hols

Saving Money on Your Summer Holiday – Ultimate Guide
Any self-respecting globetrotter is aware that traveling is a wonderful and rewarding experience, but it is not always child's play. Things can be simple, but they can also be complicated. From unexpected bank charges and hours spent looking for an internet cafe, there is always something unexpected.

If you are not traveling alone, first check the price for a single passenger
Depending on your destination, the flight itself may be the biggest expense of your trip. Even a slight reduction can mean a saving of a £80; hence, it is worth conducting some research beforehand. By purchasing a ticket for a single passenger before buying the other tickets, you may get a better price in the end. This is due to the airline's tiered fare system.

If there is more than one seat available at a lower price and you are looking to book directly two seats, the prices of all tickets will be inflated to the higher level. To work around this, you can follow the following steps:
Compare prices; you need to conduct two searches, the first search including only one passenger and the second search all passengers. If the price quoted per passenger is lower in the first search than for a single passenger then buy the ticket separately from the others.
By taking the ticket separately at a better price, you can divide the savings with other passengers so that everyone benefits from a reduction. Proceed to buy the remaining tickets at the same time you take the first ticket. You will be sure to take seats for everyone on the same plane.

Take advantage of a better exchange rate at the airport

It is only when you arrive at the airport that you realize that you forgot to exchange your money. Most airports have a currency exchange bureau but their relatively high rates mean that you will lose on the deal. Do not be afraid to find yourself in this situation, there is a simple solution.
Most of the foreign exchange companies that you will find at the airport have different online rates than those listed directly at the counters. Thus, for the transaction to be more to your advantage, simply order your currencies online while you are at the airport and then collect them at the counter after the transaction is completed.

Reset the clock and save time (Wi-Fi)

Many airports offer travellers an hour of free Wi-Fi while they wait for their flight. This may seem enough but if your flight is late, you will probably want to access it longer. Fortunately, it is possible to extend this time with a simple trick. The timing of Wi-Fi is based on the clock of your mobile phone or laptop. Going up the clock before the time is right, you can get free Wi-Fi for as long as needed.

Use on board Wi-Fi smarter

Those who travel often by plane know that the price of on board Wi-Fi varies depending on whether you access it with your smartphone or your laptop. Wi-Fi access for laptops is usually more expensive because we tend to consider that we use more data on a laptop than on a smartphone. This simple trick can save you a little money.

Before your flight, follow one of the following links to the "User-Agent-Switcher" extension for your Chrome, Firefox or Opera browser. Add the extension to your browser. User agents allow your browser to identify the type of device on which it is used. Open the drop-down menu that you can find by clicking on the icon at the top right of the screen and change the user agent by selecting a mobile phone.

After take-off, you will be able to connect to the internet while having changed user agent. This means that you will make the network believe that you are connecting from a smartphone and not from your computer, so you can enjoy Wi-Fi at a lower price.

Download a map of the city offline from Google

It can sometimes be difficult to find a map for the destination of your choice. Fortunately, Google Maps has a simple solution to your problem. The functionality of Google "Ok Maps" is not very well known. It allows you to download the regions of your choice to be able to consult them offline. This feature is also very easy to use.
Download the Google Maps app for your phone, if you have not done so already. Use the app to search for a particular city or region, then use the zoom function to cover the territory you need. It is recommended to zoom out, since the "Ok Maps" feature can save areas up to 50 miles, once this done, type "Ok Maps" in the search bar and the option will then appear to save the map.

Once the map is saved, you can access it offline by using the "my addresses" tab located on the sidebar of Google Maps. You will not be able to use offline route calculation, but GPS functions will remain active. The maps are also very detailed and will be available on your Google Maps application for 30 days.
Taking free samples in your toiletries
If you are going away for a small break then you don’t really need to pay for check-in luggage, instead you can apply on free sample website and apply to get small samples of perfume, shampoo, body creams, which will allow you to go through the gate as they are all under 10ml. This way you can save up to £40 extra to get check-in luggage.

Short Stories By R.E Fisher

When was the last time you sat down and read a story with your child?

Although this is something we do on a weekly basis with Jared and a daily basis with Eryn I realise that not all parents have time to do this. Which I think is sad for both parents and children as it's such a special time to bond and let the imagination flow.

We were recently set some new stories to read. Which the kids were excited recieve in the post. We were sent 3 short stories which are part the Bobby & Morph series. Bobby & Morph are dogs who are the centre of these beautiful written stories. In the books the author explains a little about where Bobby & Morph came from and that they were real dogs. I love when an author can give that little bit of a background. The series's is aimed at children aged between 4-7 but I personally feel that they would be loved just as much by 8-10 year olds, especially if you have an older child who enjoys reading to a younger sibling.

We have read these 3 books many times over already and Jared is reading them himself and to his sister. With Jared being only five he has struggled with a few words but overall can read them well, it's great to see him enjoy reading and watching him cuddle up on the sofa to read to his sister. Jared can always point out the meaning or lesson to be learned from a story, I think this may be something that they do at school the lessons he pointed out from these were about being kind and helpful to others. Something I feel is very important to get across to children and even more so now with all this hate they see and hear on the news.

One thing I really liked about these stories was the illustration. Nearly every book we own has full pages full of colour and pictures which distracts my children when we are reading. The illustration in these books are simple and compliment the story rather than distract from it. If you were looking for some new stories to read then I would definitely recommend these I also think they would be great for if your child wants or needs to develop their reading skill. You can purchase the Bobby & Murphy range on Amazon and Waterstone's.

Paulos Circus

What do you think of when you think of the circus? Clowns, jugglers or maybe the gymnastics.

We went to Paulos Circus last weekend and they had it all, plus more. We arrived an hour early and it's a good job too as a queue was already starting. We were waiting for about half an hour then we went and took our seats. As all seats cost the same you can choose where you want to sit, we chose to sit ring side. Inside the heated tent there were snacks available for a small cost, popcorn and hot dogs plus a selection of drinks. Liam and I had a bag of popcorn each while Jared didn't want anything until he saw a lady selling spinning lights.

As the show began there was a countdown and then the first act appeared. The trio had what looked like two hamster wheels attached to each end of a metal cage. This contraption was spun around while the performer's walked and flipped inside the circle hamster wheel then they walked on the outside, blind folded!! I kept looking at Jared's reaction as I could just hear him gasping and wowing as he watched in amazement. The trio would later return as a duo to preform on the tight rope, another hanging on the edge of your seat performance.

One of the performances is something I have never seen before but was amazed by although not as amazed as my son who thinks the man created real light sabers. The perform was on a box and I thought maybe it would be acrobatic's but I was wrong. Light shone from his hands as he created an amazing lazer light display.

As with most circus acts you have your juggler and knife throwing which was impressive. I really enjoy the more dangerous acts. In between acts I was hoping to see a clown but sadly,or maybe not if you afraid of them, there wasn't one. Instead we had Mr N who was so funny and truly knew how to keep the auidence happy which I can't imagine is easy when there are all these big acts.

Paulos Circus is currently at York until the 29th of April with performances twice a day on Thursday & Friday (5pm and 7:15pm) then on Saturday & Sunday (2pm and 4:30pm). All seats are £7pp so it is a really good price and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Jac Vapour Series-S17 review.

The amazing guys over at Jac vapour have sent me their Series-S17 starter kit to have a play around and give my thoughts. As the vapour in the family, Liam will be writing this review....

When I heard that Jac Vapour were interested in working with us I was extremely exited, I have been a customer of there is the past and I have always been impressed with their products and the service you get when visiting one of their stores. For myself it is their Leeds based store.

Jac Vapour are one of the most reputable companies on the high street with all their products manufactured in the UK it gives you a massive sense of reliability and safety in opposed to some of the more unknown brands. I have introduced many people to vaping and I have always recomended Jac's.

I was massively impressed with the amount of products they sent myself. I received the S17 kit including the new top fill tank, a spare battery, a pack of 5 coils and 4 liquids. The liquids were, Strawberry chew. Mint, Menthol & pure menthol.

The kit overall looks extremely stylish especially in the silver steel. It looks professional yet simple at the same time. The top fill tank was the real game changer for me. Many starter kits come with tanks that you have to remove from the battery in order to fill and you therefore can only fill the tank half way. The new top fill tank however, allows for the mouth piece to be removed and liquid to be inserted into the tank without the need of dismantling your kit. This not only means you can utilise the full capacity of the tank but you also do not have to run the risk over covering yourself in liquid while re-filling. I found this feature exceptionally useful when refilling my tank on the go.

The liquids are something I was already familiar with, from previous experience I was already expecting a big flavour and with the strawberry chew I was not disappointed. The flavour was that of a strawberry flavoured starburst. The PG/VG split allows for the liquid to be used in both started kits and more advanced kits. The pure menthol and menthol were exactly what you would expect, they are a clear smooth vape for those of you who like a refreshing flavour in opposed to a fruity or desert flavoured vape. Finally the mint liquid reminded me of the first few chews of chewing gum, that over coming feeling of mint covering you mouth, this again is a very refreshing taste and makes a nice change to my usual fruit based liquids.

Overall I used this product for a week and I was extremely satisfied. I am used to my TC100 which I run at around 30W, this S17 does not run at such a high wattage however due to the resistance in the coils it does produce enough vapour and the PG hit is enough to make this product a perfect starting point for anyone wishing to make the change from cigs to vaping.

Overall to buy everything I received it will cost £50  which represents exceptional value in terms of value for money. I have had kits that have cost more than this and have been no where near as fun or satisfying to use. I had a slight issue with the liquid leaking out however the guys in the Leeds store were exceptionally helpful and I was back making clouds within 5-10 minutes.
